Open
Morning
Members of the SPF attended the school Open Morning, and supported teachers
and pupils in welcoming prospective pupils and parents to Prior Park College.
Lower 3 coffee morning
On Saturday 17th November, a successful coffee morning was held at the Sports
Pavilion. Thanks to Margaret Hill and Gail Aston for organising it.
Form 3 Christmas Meal
On Wednesday 5th December, a group of Form 3 parents ventured out to celebrate
Christmas early at the Bathampton Mill. Thanks to Jill Campbell and Lynette
Booley for organising it.
Wine & Pudds
The school concert was a musical feast for the soul.
So what better than to round off the evening with jazz in the gym with a glass of mulled wine and mince pie? Well, many of us tucked into scrummy puddings too, just to get us into practice for the Christmas over indulgence ahead.
Thanks
to everyone who contributed a pudd and helped us raise around £200.
Firework Spectacular
A sparkling firework display delighted the assembled crowds of parents and pupils as they watched the night sky fill with colour, crackles and bangs above the Capability Brown gardens and across Bath.
Thanks to Dennis Clarke and his team for such a spectacular display and to Martin Beech for cooking one of his famous hog roasts. A further £315 was raised from the evening.
This
was the first year that this event was extended to the whole school. Make
sure you don't miss it next year.
Bangers, mash and Miles Kington
Only the best would do for this entertaining evening.
Delicious varieties of sizzling sausages were served with assorted flavours
of mash - from garlic to exotic cheesy ones. And the Academy Hall was just
the perfect setting too.
Miles
Kington, raconteur, journalist and parent delighted us with his amusing
tales. Thank you Miles.
We raised a staggering £300.
Summer
Fete
The Summer Fete is the SPF's major fundraiser of the year.
This year's fete was a musical extravaganza. Some of our very talented offspring played their kind of music in the Old Gym; The Big Band played on the grass during the afternoon and Bath FM were in attendance playing music, taking requests to play during the week and generally helping the afternoon go with a swing.
There were the usual stalls plus some new ones - Coconut Shy, Hoopla, Bottle Tombola, Bouncy Castle, Gladiators, Cake Stall, Plants, Candy Floss .the list goes on and on.
For the first time we had a Table Top Sale where people sold their own things - books, games, etc. etc.
Food and drink was be on offer all afternoon - A Hog Roast, Jacket potatoes with a variety of stuffings, teas, cakes, Pimms, beer, soft drinks.
Italian
Supper report
Pasta and Puccini...
If
you didn't come you missed a great evening, with well over 80 people attending
Pasta and Puccini, a great time was had by all.
Some beautifully tasty olives, bruschetta and crostini were followed by
pasta and a range of sauces. Then there were puddings, cheese and coffe.
All this was accompanied by excellent Italian wines on sale at the bar.
A fiendish table quiz of nearly fifty questions [if you're interested
you can find the quiz here and the answers
here] was followed by a game of heads and tails that that got the competitive
and monetary juices flowing and also raised a great deal for SPF funds.
If you would like to see a special theme evening - Australian? Thai? Spanish?
American? - then contact a member of the SPF
Committee or use the comments form.
