Attractions:
Activity Bouncer
- ages 3-10 - much more than a bouncy castle.
Bungee Run - ages 6 and up. The contestants are fixed to
an elastic rope and attempt to run to the other end and place a
bean bag as far up the run as possible. This is great fun to watch
and provides endless exercise for the very fit!
Human Football - Bank of Scotland Tournament - Teams of 5
people are roped together to form two opposing football teams with
a 5 minute time limit. 16 teams on the day, with each team charged
£20 to play. The winning team is the one with most goals scored,
and the prize will be a cup, with a booby prize for the worst team.
Giant slide -a large inflatable which can be used by 5-8
people at a time, for ages 5-14.
Obstacle Run - obstacle course for ages 3 -10.
Sumo Wrestling - a timed wrestling bout with the contestants
in large inflatable sumo suits - no age limit.
Surf Ride - the unwary surf boarder attempts to stay on a
gyratory board for as long as possible - no age limit.
Archery - shoot some arrows.
Balloon Lift - we hope there will be a mass balloon lift
from the top field in the late afternoon.
Balloon Rides - two hot air balloons will give tethered rides
up and down on the slopes in front of the Mansion.
Classic Cars - even more cars than last year.
Ceilidh Band - join in the dancing.
Juggling Display - are there some jugglers out there who
would like to show off their skills?
Proposed Events:
Fancy Dress Competition/Costume
Parade - free entry to those children arriving dressed up. Headmaster
to judge Junior and Senior groups.
Firework Finale - we will light up the night sky.
Lighting the Lake - torches round the National Trust lake
will make a spectacular sight as dusk draws in.
Karaoke - will you pay for the Headmaster to sing again?
Or perhaps pay for him not to sing again!
Music - Music from the Concert Band and Big Band on the specially
constructed stage on the Mansion steps.
Raffle - an appeal for raffle prizes has been made to parents.
If you can think of anyone who might like to provide a prize, please
approach them and let the Carnival committee know. Currently we
have a Balloon Ride and two tickets from the National Trust for
the Jane Austen Walk. Confirmed
Samba Sulis - moving and shaking on and off all afternoon.
