The first main SPF event next term is Race Night on Saturday 22nd May. Full details will be available at the beginning of term and there will follow the opportunity to sponsor a race, "buy" a horse and, on the night back your favourites. Make a date in your diary now - it is the last Saturday before half term.

On the last Sunday of term, 27th June, the SPF is again joining with the PPA (Prior Park Association of ex pupils) extending last year's Tennis and Cricket afternoon in to a
Midsummer Sports Festival.

There will be a
cricket match between the 1st X1 and a team of SPF/PPA members, a tennis tournament (parents, ex pupils and current pupils all played last year), and for those who prefer a rather more gentle activity on a Sunday afternoon, there will be boules and croquet. We also hope to arrange a Tug of War competition - great fun to take part in or just watch.

Families are invited to start the afternoon with a
picnic lunch and after the exertions of the afternoon the SPF will serve a strawberry tea (hopefully picked locally the day before) in the Pavilion.

More details about how to sign up and join in early next term.

The Auction created great excitement, when the signed England Rugby shirt went under the hammer.  Does anyone have any suggestions for the Auction this year? Can you donate or suggest a suitable auction item?  Please contact anyone on the committee with your ideas - numbers on the back of this leaflet - please give us a ring.

The Raffle had some wonderful prizes last year due to parent generosity and we would like your support again this year.  Last year we raffled a weekend for two at the Mount Haven Hotel in Cornwall; a print of the Palladian Bridge; a Stone Garden Urn; a Balloon Flight; a meal for two at the Scribbling Horse, Bradford-on-Avon; and a television!  So far this year we have a Balloon Flight and two tickets for the guided Jane Austen walk in September courtesy of the National Trust.  Do you have any other donations or suggestions for this year's Raffle.  Please phone any member of the committee with your ideas.  Remember we rely on our whole community to make the day a success and always appreciate the help we receive.

There will be a China Smash at the Carnival this year and we need donations of any chipped or unwanted items of crockery. We are receiving items from now until the day; plenty of time for all the butter-fingers among you to make a donation.   So look in your lofts and cupboards and bring in your crocks for a smashing days entertainment.

As ever we will need help in September, on the day to set-up and help to tidy-up (finger tip search of the front lawn - what fun) and tear down after the event.  If you can volunteer your services now this would help us with the planning. We also need marshals, gate staff, help in the bar and the tea stall and car parking aficionados. Helpers receive free tea and cakes and a Pimms, if you're lucky - and quick!
