Yuletide Fayre 2005

Now in its fifth year, the Yuletide

Fayre goes from strength to strength.

The SPF team have the organisation

finely tuned which has helped the

event become a great success for

customers and traders alike. Apart

from the wonderful stalls, a fantastic

innovation this year was a children's activity area where sixth formers helped children make Christmas goodies while parents could shop till they dropped. Hundreds of cakes and cups of tea were sold in the John Wood Chapel, as well as soup and ploughman's lunches. As we go to press, it appears that profits should be around £2,000, an increase of several hundred pounds on last year's total. Thanks to everyone who supported the day in whatever capacity - we really can't do it without you.

Text Box: The Society of Parents and Friends exists to dream up events and functions which endorse and enhance the qualities of friendship and community which have become the hallmark of Prior Park College.
Some events have a fundraising theme, others are offered simply to give the school the opportunity to meet, to welcome newcomers to the school, and to allow us to feel that we are involved and committed in a joint enterprise.
All parents and friends are welcome to join the friendly SPF committee which meets occasionally during term-time in school.
Anyone interested can talk to a member of the committee or call Fiona on 01761 471368 for more information and details of the next meeting.
Your officers this year are chair Fiona Jackson on (01761) 471368; vice chair Deb McCormick; hon secretary Alison Heard on (01225) 310463 and treasurer Martin Hopkins on (01225) 336802.
Staff members include Giles Mercer, Charles Freeman and Margaret Hill.

The Paragon School’s own quiz (hmm, same term as Prior’s — spooky, huh?) is on Friday 3 February at the Cricket Club, North Parade.

Teams of six (with general knowledge and a sense of humour) are required. Tickets cost £10 per person and include a buffet supper. Cash bar, prizes.  Phone 01225 310837 for tickets. No reservations without payment this year as there is always a waiting list. Be warned...
