Welcome to the first SPF newsletter as we approach the new school year and we hope you have had a good summer despite the weather.
Our first event is the AGM. This will take place in the Academy Hall on Tuesday 19th September at 8. 00 p.m.
This is your first chance of the year to become actively involved with the SPF and help determine the way it is run, what events happen during the coming year and how the money raised is spent for the benefit and enjoyment of your children.
It is not only about raising money though, but a social activity as well. We hope to have more events in the future which are purely social and not planned with fundraising in mind. Having said that, we will always hope to at least cover our costs. All ideas and help are very welcome.
Several parents have already expressed an interest in joining the Committee, so why not join us and bring your influence to bear?
The proceedings are traditionally pleasingly short, followed by the odd glass of wine or three and a chance to chat to new and not so new faces that have turned up.
Gervase O'Donovan will be completing 3 years as Chairman and so is standing down from that role. Our thanks go to Gervase for all his hard work and enthusiasm over the last 3 years. Do read his article overleaf.
